The functions of colon are to absorb salts and water not absorbed by the small intestine, and then to compact and expel the remaining waste product. In fact, total health cannot be achieved (or restored) without a systematic approach to colon care.

All of the food we eat passes through the colon where it is broken down by bacteria, digestive acids and enzymes. Nutrients from the food we consume are absorbed through the colon into the bloodstream and then carried throughout the body.

Not only is the colon responsible for absorbing nutrients, but it is also responsible for elimination of wastes and toxins, as over a period of time, your bowels can accumulate large amounts of toxic waste matter and slowly poison your entire system.

It is estimated that a normal person may have as much as 10 pounds or even more of previous un-eliminated waste already present in the large intestine which undoubtedly needs to be eliminated. If that is not done properly, the person may experience feeling lethargic, disinterested and tired in almost everyday activities. So it should be flushed out on a regular basis.

Symptoms may include a heavy, bloated feeling, infrequent bowel movements and intestinal gas. In order to prevent such problems, it is recommended that one regularly cleanses their colon by adopting different ‘colon cleansing’ methods (however they differ in approach as well as effectiveness of these methods), they are:

Colonic Irrigation
Colonic irrigation is a procedure in which very large quantities of liquids (5-8 gallons and sometimes even more!) are infused into the colon via the rectum through a tube in an effort to wash away and remove its contents. But it is too costly and it involves considerable amount of time per visit.

Moreover, it is not a very natural process to pump water from behind, sometime may cause rips or stretching at the lining of the colon. So we don’t recommend it.

Alternative and Conventional Treatments
Alternative and conventional treatment for constipation involves mainly increasing exercise and intake of dietary fiber and water while reserving laxatives, suppositories, and enemas for emergencies. Occasional constipation can be safely self-treated. However, if constipation becomes a chronic problem, it should be evaluated by a physician. Whereas these methods can keep the colon healthy, are not very effective when you have faulty colon. So, it is better to call them preventive methods instead of corrective methods to keep your colon healthy.

Frankly speaking, if you are looking for short-cut methods for clearing you out then laxatives are for you. But if you are looking for some long term effective method to treat constipation, laxatives are not for you. Most people who are mildly constipated do not need laxatives. Laxatives are not recommended for everyone.

Oxygen-Based Colon Cleansers
Oxygen-based colon cleansers are the best way for colon cleansing. Oxygen-based colon cleansers work with nature’s own powerful detoxifier – oxygen. Oxygen is a colorless, odorless, tasteless, gaseous chemical element that occurs in the atmosphere, forming 1/5 of its volume. It combines with nearly all other elements; is the most common element in the earth’s crust; and is essential to life processes.

Oxygen based cleansers use specialized ozonated magnesium oxides to reduce the solid toxic mass into a liquid or gas form. They treat the disease, not the symptoms! When other methods and inferior products may do just one, a oxygen-based colon cleansers do all three i.e. release oxygen and mineral into the digestive tract, filters out harmful debris and thus revitalize the entire digestive and assimilation process; plus it’s non-habit forming and won’t weaken your colon muscles in the long run. You can use them safely for your entire life.
