All Work and No Play Makes Jack A Dull Boy

Hey guys, I know this piece can’t be treated as a perfect work to showcase my writing skills, but I have put it here deliberately because of a reason. I must say a solid reason.

Last week my 6 years old daughter was asked to speak on this topic in her school. Being a writer and researcher myself, I could have written a solid piece but the problem was how a little girl would remember all this stuff within a day. So I tried to summarize the whole thing in short without compromising with the topic.

And, the good part of the story was she stood first in the class…so I am a proud father as well as a writer (no pun intended). Bravo guys…keep reading…I am sure it would surely brighten up your day a little!

Most of the time we all are so engrossed in the work that we almost forget that a little bit of fun and joy is always required to make our routine life worth living!

All work and no play make Jack a dull boy is a famous proverb. Its meaning is that without time off from work, a person becomes dull and bored.

This proverb was first recorded thousands of years ago by the Egyptian.

Some writers have added a second part to the proverb:

“All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy,
All play and no work makes Jack a mere toy.”

So there should be a perfect balance between work and fun. A good personality comes from this perfect balance. Unfortunately, in today’s society people put more stress on work than fun. They forget that a little bit of fun is as important as work.

Character is mainly defined with two things, education and personality. If one does not have a cheerful personality, then his overall potential would be drastically reduced.

In today’s society education and fun should be balanced. Therefore, we can say that the value of having fun is as important as education to make Jack as THE REAL JACK.
