Being a Hindu Brahmin, I strongly believe in Bhagwat Gita. While watching TV, when I saw Anna Hazare yesterday I remembered one of the most influential verses from Gita.

Yada yada hi dharmasya
Glanir bhavati bharata
Abhyutthanam adharmasya
Tadatmanam srjamyaham.

SYNONYMS
yada–whenever; yada–wherever; hi–certainly; dharmasya–of religion; glanih–discrepancies; bhavati–manifested, becomes; bharata–O descendant of Bharata; abhyutthanam–predominance; adharmasya–of irreligion; tada–at that time; atmanam–self; srjami–manifest; aham–I.

TRANSLATION
Whenever and wherever there is a decline in religious practice, O descendant of Bharata, and a predominant rise of irreligion–at that time I descend Myself.

Without any hype or even exaggeration when I see Anna Hazare I feel the Lord Himself has come in his soul as there is not only strong decline of religious practices but even humanity, where people have become literally blind, they have become overly greedy (some greed is always in human nature, but what you will call when you see A Raja who was involved in the biggest scam that I ever heard whopping 1 Lakh Crore Rupees!).

Really don’t know what these poor people (yeah, you read it correctly I said “poor” people because they lack in one of the most precious things in any human being called “Character“) will do with such money. Can they enjoy it? What they will buy from it…a car or even plane…a house or even farm house. Ok fine, they can, but what those things will bring to them? Satisfaction, peace, status, power or something like that?

No absolutely not!!! If they think in that way then I must say they are the biggest fools…they are the fools of first order :)

Let’s educate everybody.

Below given are the top 10 things to know about Anna Hazare and Jan Lok Pal Bill:
1. Who is Anna Hazare?
An ex-army man. Fought 1965 Indo-Pak War

2. What’s so special about him?
He built a village Ralegaon Siddhi in Ahamad Nagar district, Maharashtra

3. So what?
This village is a self-sustained model village. Energy is produced in the village itself from solar power, biofuel and wind mills.
In 1975, it used to be a poverty clad village. Now it is one of the richest village in India. It has become a model for self-sustained, eco-friendly & harmonic village.

4. Ok,…?
This guy, Anna Hazare was awarded Padma Bhushan and is a known figure for his social activities.

5. Really, what is he fighting for?
He is supporting a cause, the amendment of a law to curb corruption in India.

6. How that can be possible?
He is advocating for a Bil, The Jan Lokpal Bill (The Citizen Ombudsman Bill), that will form an autonomous authority who will make politicians (ministers), beurocrats (IAS/IPS) accountable for their deeds.

8. It’s an entirely new thing right..?
In 1972, the bill was proposed by then Law minister Mr. Shanti Bhushan. Since then it has been neglected by the politicians and some are trying to change the bill to suit thier theft (corruption).

7. Oh.. He is going on a hunger strike for that whole thing of passing a Bill ! How can that be possible in such a short span of time?
The first thing he is asking for is: the government should come forward and announce that the bill is going to be passed.
Next, they make a joint committee to DRAFT the JAN LOKPAL BILL. 50% goverment participation and 50% public participation. Because you cant trust the government entirely for making such a bill which does not suit them.

8. Fine, What will happen when this bill is passed?
A LokPal will be appointed at the centre. He will have an autonomous charge, say like the Election Commission of India. In each and every state, Lokayukta will be appointed. The job is to bring all alleged party to trial in case of corruptions within 1 year. Within 2 years, the guilty will be punished. Not like, Bofors scam or Bhopal Gas Tragedy case, that has been going for last 25 years without any result.

9. Is he alone? Who else is there in the fight with Anna Hazare?
Baba Ramdev, Ex. IPS Kiran Bedi, Social Activist Swami Agnivesh, RTI activist Arvind Kejriwal and many more.
Prominent personalities like Aamir Khan is supporting his cause.

10. Ok, got it. What can I do?
At least we can spread the message. How?
Putting status message, links, video, changing profile pics.

At least we can support Anna Hazare and the cause for uprooting corruption from India.

At least we can hope that his Hunger Strike does not go in vain.

At least we can pray for his good health.

Thanks for reading. If possible, please spread the word around amongst your family, friends and even co-workers, because if at this time this issue fails then absolutely no hope in the future as we all are so engrossed in our daily life and mostly don’t have such courage to raise such issues.

This is the time when we can do our small bit to awaken the dumb and deaf government filled with corrupted politicians who are literally raping our country like anything. We are paying heavy taxes and living almost hand to mouth due to ever rising inflation rate and rates of other essential commodities are also soaring high, but only these people who have become indisputed kings are milking our country and resources.

STOP them unless it is too late NOW!!! Join hands together and fight for this cause!!!

its great that we have such selfless people serving this country by gandhian ways even now!. we have to support this great man. but we have to start by promising to correct ourselves. we should never be tempted to pay bribe.have patience . Always insist on bill in a shop.Allow no person to destroy public property. Raise your voice against it. Let us uplift our souls a little bit and try to be good citizens of India.Be aware of our duties as citizens – pay taxes, keep surroundings clean, follow up and take account of the public work around you and please vote after correctly analising the candidates.

    • Absolutely right Kesari. “Sab chalta hai” or “apne baap ka kya jata hai” types of phrases should be completely removed from our dictionary. Afterall, it is only we whos rights, properties, hard earned money in the form of taxes if being spent on them. Moreover, when we know any person who has earned money using bad ways or person who we think doesn’t deserve to be called a human being, should be discarded from our list. No matter how influential that person might be, but we shouldn’t bend or give up in front of him/her.

Anyway glad to see your comments pouring in friends :)

well written and i hope one day when my child would go to school, she would see this day on her history book page as a turning point in the history of corruption. Yeah, I hope.

    • First of all a big thanks Gagan to hear from you back…long time no see!

Yeah absolutely right buddy she will see this day as a big turning point in the histroy…so try to do something in this regard so that even she can correlate her dear papa as well ;)

If we can’t do anything remarkable…then at least we can create awareness or even educate them to know what is happening around…since yesterday I am trying to make my two daughters understand who is this Anna Hazare jee and what exactly he is doing and even what is Lokpal Bill…elder one is in 5th standard..so she is able to understand everything, but younger one is like me…who is just participating and listening and trying to do something like an innocent child (no pun, intended!)
